Tina Barahanos was born in Sydney, Australia.  She received her Bachelor of Fine Arts from the College of Fine Arts, University of New South Wales.  She went on to complete a Master of Art and then a Master of Fine Arts Research Degree in 2010 from the same university.

Her practice is multi-disciplinary and is centred in painting, printmaking, photography and digital media. Her work draws influence from the iconography of the everyday depicting ordinary, unassuming scenes that are likely to go unnoticed. It is within these fleeting observations she finds imagery that can strengthen the connection between art and the everyday.

Tina was awarded the Wyndham Art Prize in 2017 and has been a finalist in various national and international art prizes including more recently the Blacktown Art Prize (2015, 2017, 2018 and 2019), Paramor Prize: Art + Innovation, Casula Powerhouse Arts Centre (2017). Fremantle Arts Centre Print Award (2017) Head on Photo Award, Sydney, (2017), Rick Amor Drawing Prize, Art Gallery of Ballarat (2016). Stanthorpe Art Festival (2016). She has exhibited in solo exhibitions with the Robin Gibson Gallery.

Tina is custom printmaker and has been a member of the Sydney Printmakers since 2010. Her work is held in public and private collections nationally and internationally
