Etched in Memorysolo show at Robin Gibson Gallery

These etchings were created between 2009  - 2010 and reflect on stories my mother told me when I was growing up of her life in Greece as a child. Stories of ghosts walking up and down the staircase in the middle of the night, running out of the bomb shelter to rescue a pet pig, walking to the neighbouring village with her mother through poppy fields. Her favourite flowers are embedded in my memories of her, and a landscape I could only imagine through a child's mind. As dementia began to take a toll on her life, her mind and her memories felt an urgency to capture her stories through image and give them more permanence.
