An Ordinary Day
This work was created between 2016 and 2017 and includes the award winning digital print Commuter. I explore the conventional routines of ordinary people travelling through the cityscape. My interest lies in the transient spaces or non-places, with their characteristics being identified as temporary and fleeting and not representative of a culture or place. These spaces seem to signal the end of distinct regional identity that can be rooted in a familiar sense of place. They hold no memory of tradition or identity. I portray people in the nonspace because they become no more than their experiences in that space.
