An Ordinary Day - Paintings

An Ordinary Day considers the city through fleeting observations made while moving through it. Figures, vehicles and fragments of the built environment appear momentarily, often partially obscured or seen from an indirect viewpoint.

The works focus on the transient spaces of everyday movement — roads, stations, platforms and the spaces between destinations. Cropping and shifts in focus isolate fragments from the continuous movement of the city, drawing attention to incidental moments and encounters that might otherwise pass unnoticed. 2015-2017
