An Ordinary Day

An Ordinary Day developed from observations of people moving through the city and the temporary spaces created by everyday travel. The works focus on fleeting encounters between strangers whose separate journeys briefly overlap through the shared routine of transit.

Digital Prints

These works began with photographs taken from a car window while travelling alongside a moving train. I was drawn to the passengers absorbed in their own journeys — people I knew nothing about, yet briefly felt connected to through the shared experience of being in transit. Fragments from different photographs were digitally combined to bring separate moments together within a single image. 2016 -2017

Softground Etchings

The softground etchings focus on ordinary moments observed while people wait for a train — going home, reading the news, a mother and child, a conversation. Seen indirectly through reflections in the train window, these small, everyday moments are partially obscured and layered, capturing brief glimpses of people absorbed in the familiar routine of waiting. 2016 -2017
